Modernste Methoden der optischen Konstruktion führten zu einer Bauweise, die mit vier Linsen in zwei Baugruppen bei geringer Dispersion eine Auflösung von 260 Linien/mm bietet. Die Lichtstärke (größte Blende) des Hauptobjektivs der Kamera wird nicht beeinträchtigt. Mit dem passenden Adapter kann das DCR-2020PRO an vielen Digitalkameras und Camcordern eingesetzt werden.
