Um endlich einen Fuß ins Showgeschäft zu bekommen, schlüpft der erfolglose Theaterschauspieler Alexander (Matthias Schweighöfer) kurzerhand in die Rolle des langbeinigen Starlets Alexandra - und wird tatsächlich vom Fleck weg engagiert. Alles traumhaft also, wäre da nicht Schauspielkollegin und Superstar Sarah (Alexandra Maria Lara), in die er sich sofort unsterblich verliebt. Aber wie soll er bei seiner Traumfrau landen, wenn die ihn als neue Vertraute und beste Freundin sieht? Und als sollte das nicht reichen, kommt auch noch Ärger mit einem zudringlichen Kollegen und einer zickigen Ex-Freundin hinzu - mehr Probleme also, als ein Mann (oder eine Frau) allein bewältigen kann. Und seine Brüder (Detlev Buck, Maximilian Brückner) und deren Kumpel (Denis Moschitto) sind leider auch keine große Hilfe.
