Anna (Milla Jovovich) ist Lehrerin an einer Grundschule und führt mit ihrem Freund ein glückliches Leben. Nachts auf dem Heimweg wird sie Zeuge eines Mordes und daraufhin fast zum nächsten Opfer des Killers. Bei der Flucht vor ihm zieht sie sich eine schwere Kopfverletzung zu.
