Wir haben die Freecom ToughDrive in der Firma u.a. im Außendienst im Einsatz, weil wir dort desöfteren Defekte durch Wasser- und Sturzschäden hatten.
Man kann jetzt nicht mit der Festplatte tauchen gehen und bei einem Sturz aus mehr als 1,5m (tatsächlich schon vorgekommen) hält auch sie nicht immer stand, allerdings ist unser "Verschleiß" an externen Festplatten seit Nutzung der Freecom-Variante deutlich zurück gegangen. Was ein wenig störend ist (zumindest für uns, andere wird es sicher freuen) ist das stetige "Wachstum" des Volumens. Wir haben mit der 160GB-Variante begonnen und müssen jetzt zwangsweise bei Neuausstattungen mind. 320GB verwenden, da die Verfügbarkeit der Platten nicht sehr lange währt - was aber dem Hersteller geschuldet ist.
