- the cheapest yet efficient HDD cooling
- potential problems due to bearing wear, noisy by default, adds significant height to HDD
The main drawback of the directly-mounted-to-HDD coolers such as Xilence HDD cooler is their bearing wear: a worn bearing produces substantial vibrations to deteriorate a HDD working conditions and thus shorten a HDD life.
The power connection is 12V that implies the excessive noise, therefore you´re strongly advised switching this device to 5V powering as it will make the cooler substantially quieter and prolong its bearing lifetime whereas leaving its cooling capacity at a good enough level.
NOTE: I switched it to 5V simply rearranging its power connector pins.
So keep an eye on this HDD cooler´s bearing wear (timely fan lubrication or replacement if it´s worn-out), don´t forget dust cleaning inside your comp from time to time and everything will be OK :)

- По цене очень выгоден и снижает температуру hdd на несколько градусов.
- Требует наличие свободного слота и немного шумит
