- schneller als die DM800, spielt viele Videoformate ab, schnelle Umschaltzeiten
- keine USB-Schnittstelle
Er ist um einiges schneller als die DM800.
Beim Abspielen werden recht viele Formate unterstützt (mkv, avi, mp4, vob, iso, mpeg, mp3, ogg, ...)
Das Bild ist wirklich gut und die Umschaltzeiten sind sehr schnell. Das Gerät ist recht klein und von der Software her ist fast alles möglich.
Ein USB-Anschlus wäre ganz nützlich gewesen, aber es geht auch ohne. Fazit: Der Receiver ist zwar noch recht teuer für einen Singletuner ohne Platte , aber ich kann ihn trotzdem empfehlen. Ich hab den Kauf bisher nicht bereut.

- Starker Prozessor, Unbeschränkter Funktionsumfang durch massenhafte Plugins, Bedienung auch über Web-Interface möglich
Receiver und Fernbedienung sind sehr gut verarbeitet. Fazit: Die Dreambox ist einfach begeisternd!
Dank der vielen im Netz erhältlichen Betriebssysteme kann die Enigma2 Box so richtig ihre Muskeln spielen lassen. Zusammen mit dem GP3 Plugin vom IHAD Board ist sie einfach ein unschlagbarer HD-Receiver, Mediaplayer, Netzwerkserver und alles möglich Pay-TV Bereich, keine Reglementierung (bzw. Rechtebeschneidung) durch private Senderanbieter...usw.
Geschlagen kann die Box eigentlich nur von anderen Boxen aus dem Hause Dreammedia. Dennoch würde ich lieber zwei DM500HD kaufen als eine DM 8000.
USB brauche ich nicht, alles funktioniert tadellos übers Netzwerk und / oder über eine am eSata angeschlossene Festplatte.
Nur einfach auspacken und anschliessen ist der Dream und dem stolzen Besitzer zu langweilig, man sollte sich schon ein wenig mit ihr befassen und ausprobieren.
