The MB-D80 battery pack adds extended shooting capability in an ergonomic design that adds shooting stability. Able to run on either one or two EN-EL3e batteries or six AA-size batteries, it also features additional command dials and alternative buttons for shutter release and AE-Lock/AF-Lock that make vertical shooting more comfortable. Approximately 2500 shots with one EN-EL3e and approximately 5000 shots with two EN-EL3e batteries. Compatible AA-size batteries comprise alkaline, Ni-MH, lithium and nickel-manganese batteries.

Das Gerät wurde incl. Batterieeinschub geliefert. Somit hat man die Wahl zwischen Akku und Batterie.Finde ich sehr positiv Die Einarbeitung war sehr kurz und einfach. Die Einstellräder haben die Einstellungen der Kamera übernommen. Die Installation war wirklich nicht der Rede wert. Man muss nur aufpassen, dass man die Batterieklappe der Kamera nach dem ausbauen nicht verlegt ;-) NIKON Zubehör an NIKON Kamera, was soll da nicht kompatibel sein ;-) Der Funktionsumfang ist für meine Bedürfnisse ausreichend. Die Bedienbarkeit ist relativ simpel. Die Kamera hat mit Griff für mich eindeutig an Handling gewonnen. Die D80 war mir vorher etwas zu leicht. Nun stimmt´s wieder Fazit: Der Batteriegriff entspricht meinen Erwartungen.Er stellt für mich eine sinnvolle Ergänzung der Kamera dar. Vor allem muss der /die Akku/s seltener aufgeladen werden und ich habe eine grössere Leistungsreserve. Das macht sich auf ausgedehnten Exkursionen schon bemerkbar.

Im Lieferumfang ist lediglich der Battegriff enthalten. Einfache Installation, die Bedienung ist simpel. Besonders für Hochkantaufnahmen erweist sich der Batteriegriff als äußerst praktisch. Die Kompatibilität mit der D80 ist einwandfrei, beide Akkus können ohne weitere Einstellungen über das Kameramenü ausgelesen werden. Vor allem der zusätzliche Akku (nicht im Lieferumfang) ist für längere Touren von Vorteil. Das handling der D80 wird durch den zusätzlichen Griff verbessert, die Kamera liegt doch deutlich besser in der Hand, obwohl das Gewicht merklich zunimmt. Fazit: Die Erwartungen wurden voll erfüllt, ein sinvolles Zubehör für die D80.
